when you say .msc do you mean the group policy editor? Open the Local Group Policy Editor>>>User Configuration>>>Administrative Templates>>>Windows Components>>>Windows Update...On right side, select Remove All Access to use all Windows Update Features. Click on policy setting and select enabled. We've used it and it works well with win 10 pro 1709 builds. If this doesn't help, then this is just a bit useful knowledge anyway. :) Good Luck!!!

There is a post in Tips and Tricks 10 Oct 2017

to follow up on which should verify this act is permanently in place. Sorrywe didn't mention it along with this posting :)

Hello sir, I used to blocked my PC from Windows Updates, as Sir @Mindsnake2 says, you can also disable it in Group Policy Editor, and Sir @Apache says also, you can use DWS Tool to disable Windows Updates, also Try blocking it in Registry Editor or called RegEdit.
Head to this directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU and Create a 32-bit DWORD value called ‘AuOptions’ and under ‘Value Data’ type 2 and click ‘OK’
And try to Open Windows Updates at Settings [Win + I] under Update & Security and click Check for Updates, then Restart.
I also use third-party software called "Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.3" to blocked it, you can Google it for the link.

I know this software is not made by TeamOS, I don't recommend this software if it's harm your PC, I'm just sharing it, hope you understand it~ :h:
Credits for Paras Sidhu for making this software.

Hope it works in your Windows PC~:h::tmi:

You can also create Registry File using these command script
This one
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU] "NoAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001

And this one
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU] "NoAutoUpdate"=dword:00000001

Save it as .reg in extension file and Merge it, Hope it works:tmi::tmi:

@Michaella Athena, your opinion is always welcome. That is what this forum is for. There are more than enough suggestions here for @dOpeify to consider. Gonna lock and complete this now. BTW, like the new sig. :)
