I work with an Indian Company. I cannot use Cracked Windows PCs because the officials keeps on inquiring/checking our registered systems. If they find us using cracked Windows they fines us with huge amounts.

I am associated with Windows since I first touched a Windows 98 PC in my School life. I am unaware of various versions of Windows e.g. OEMs, Retails & Volumes etc.

Now I am planning to buy Genuine Product Key of Windows 7 Pro & Windows 10 Pro. I keeps on formatting my PCs once, twice or even thrice a month whenever new ISOs are released here. There should be an option of changing the Genuine License in different PCs by deactivating the previous ones.

We have lots of Members with good knowledge. Anybody put their suggestions will be welcomed.

OEM means Original equipment manufacturer. Windows is genuine if your computer is brand-name (Dell, HP/Compaq, Fujitsu... etc)
Retail means a personal license for a single computer (mostly for home/end user) you cannot "move" that license
VL means Volume License a single key for multiple computers (mostly for companies). VL license can be "moved" as long as don't increase the numbers of computers activated by VL.

Between win7 and win10... if you have an intel processor from Kaby Lake family or newest... you cannot use win7 or win 8(.1). win10 only.

good luck

What about in case my System burns the Board? In case my system is stolen? Would I be able to use the Retail License into another system??

Does this situation only apply to the PC you use? If so, you could run in evaluation mode, which doesn't require a key. Personalization options will not be available, but the OS will function and update normally. If you're re-installing as often as you say, this may be a better option than activation because each retail key is only allowed so many reactivations before the key becomes invalid. And, each reactivation requires a rather lengthy phone conversation with a Microsoft rep over the phone, if you don't have your key tied to your MS account. Binding to your Microsoft account allows a seamless reactivation on the same hardware, but will not allow the transfer of the license to a different machine.

Windows 10 OEM activations occur automatically with the correct OS image on the original hardware. For windows 10, as long as the HWID doesn't change, you're good to go. Small changes can be made (RAM upgrade, add a drive, etc), but larger changes (Primary drive replacement, CPU upgrade, etc) may invalidate the OEM license. On Windows 7 OEM installs, all that is needed is the correct OEM key (there are different keys used for the hierchy of Windows 7), the proper SLP cert & correlating SLP marker in the BIOS.

As mentioned above, volume licensing could be an option if there are many machines at your business that use Windows. If this is the case, would the company you work for be willing to fund the cost?

There is also MSDN, but those licenses are only valid in a software developers environment.

Good luck.

I don't use Windows product keys on purpose, but if you want a legit one find a Windows 7 product key on Ebay for a few EUR. Go to the Windows site and upgrade I believe you can still do this if you say you require new features for a medical reason there's a bunch of different choices to go with like "I can't hear well so I need Corona". You need a VPN with a American IP because this is because of the American's with Disabilities Act. After upgrading use the media creation tool to create restoration media. That results in a genuine copy of Windows 10 digitally activated from a legit product key. I would not use Windows 7 is much less secure use 8.1 or 10.

EDIT: Just read @Neo.. s post. He may be right do your own research
