As expected, you can't update the app. V3331 is out and will reset the activation. Is there an update to the Medicines for this?

Well...

Option 1 - Try to uninstall the program (use e.g. Revo) - Download the new version and apply the activation from this version... Haven't tried - might work.
Option 2 - Don't update and use this program until there's a new one available
Option 3 - Buy the program - sorry, couldn't resist...

Only issue I have is the Medicines-it downloads and drops stuff on your system which has nothing to do with PM. I'd beware of giving it admin on your system. Sadly this seems the only way to get PM activated

Can anyone upload their patched photomechanic.exe? Saves running Medicines on a refresh system, thanjs!

Any updates on this not using the trojan-ridden Medicines?

Thanks for this upload. I had this about a year ago and lost the one I was able to make at the time and haven't had time to deal with since also for forgot to upload that one. This is great software!

This has the usual malware in the Medicines. But, you can install it in sandboxie, run the Medicines in sandboxie, the transfer x64-msvcr100-ruby200.dll out of the sandbox once it has been patched, create the passport file and PM5Activation and copy the latter out of the sandbox. Then wipe the sandbox and use that dll and activation file just fine,without any malware.

So, I've managed to get this working without the malware.
You'll need sandboxie installed.
Download the latest version of the installer from their website, find the latest Medicines. Run the installer normally, block net access. Run Medicines in sandboxie, Medicines the app, run the app in sandboxie, create the passport file and the valiadtion file, *copy these out of the sandbox to your desktop*, *copy the patched x64-msvcr100-ruby200.dll* from camerabits program folder to your desktop*, close everything and destroy the sandbox, Finally, run PM normally and point it to the copied passport file

I love that you were able to do this and I have replicated your steps above but I keep on getting an error that the registration info doesn't match when pointing to the copied passport file that was extracted out of Sandboxie. Do you place the of copy the patched x64-msvcr...dll into PM root folder before launching PM normally outside of Sandboxie?

This was on build 4155, but 4484 is out now which I haven't tried it on. Are you using that?
Yes, you want to have two copies of PM installed, one normal and one in sandboxie, then Medicines & validate everything in sandboxie (you can copy the non-sandboxie passport to sandboxie to Medicines first) and move all these back to their original locations in the non-sandboxie respective PM folders (x64-msvcr goes in C:\Program Files\Camera Bits\Photo Mechanic). Checking my install, I don't have an activation file in prog files, but there's an identical file in C:\ProgramData\Camera Bits, Inc\Photo Mechanic called com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic6.activation

Hey @dancedar, Thanks for the reply I'm going to try my hand at this again at some point and give it another go.
