Since my Windows 10 installation is stuck at "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your Windows 10", I'm googling for a solution and arrived this site in order to download EasyRE in a hope to fix this issue.

I hope it works.

Thank you.

Moved to here H&R... next time please try to paste appropriately... https://www.teamos-hkrg.com/index.php?threads/welcome-note-for-everyone-to-read.13269/
I'm sorry for that. Right after signing up I was prompted to introduce myself. So I did in this way. I'm sorry if I did it wrong.

LOL. Windows doesnt come bugged. WE users make them buggy so since you in the installation process i suggest you start over with complete install. No upgrading
oh, sorry, I meant it was working before.
There are files and programs that I was using.

Few months ago, my computer didn't display. Screen is always black.
Recently, I got a new computer without HDD. So, I moved my new HDD into this new desktop and Windows can not start.

That is what I'm trying to fix: make Windows 10 to start up so I can get back to work.

If you have any ideas, I'd like to hear, thank you!

Boot from the media and choose “Repair your computer”
When you boot from the USB drive, it will kickstart Windows 10 installation. Do not have a craving to keep hitting next, or you will end up installing Windows. On the first installation screen, look for a link “Repair your computer.” Click on it. It will boot your computer into Advanced Recovery.
Under Advanced troubleshooting
When at the advanced troubleshooting, select Advanced Options.

Select Troubleshoot.

Under Advanced options screen, you will see Startup Repair.

Click on it and follow the instructions.
This solution will fix the problems which don’t allow you to boot into the computer. In the next screen, it will display the admin account with its name. Click on it, and verify using the account password related with the email associated with it.
Repair Windows 10 using the Installation Media

After verification, it will start diagnosing the computer and resolve any issue related to boot. This post will help you in case this step fails and you are stuck on diagnosing your PC screen.
Once the problem is resolved, the computer should reboot as usual, and you should be able to use it.

The process doesn’t wipe or delete personal files from your account, so you don’t have to worry about it

... Recently, I got a new computer without HDD. So, I moved my new HDD into this new desktop and Windows can not start..
If the Windows worked fine before moving the HDD to the new PC, it is a driver problem (for the new PC).

Anyway, I share another way to repair the PC from the CMD.

Method 1. How to repair Windows 10 using SFC?
SFC (System File Checker) is a command-line utility that can scan for corruption in Windows system files and replace any corrupted or missing protected system files with a known good version. When you feel buggy with your computer or notice problems during boot, you can use SFC to diagnose problems and repair it.
To repair Windows 10 using SFC with detailed steps:
1. Open "Start", search for the Command Prompt (cmd), select it and run as administrator.
2. Then type the command: sfc /scannow and press "Enter".
If SFC is unable to fix the problem, probably the utility cannot get the necessary files from the Windows image, which might have become broken. In this situation, you can use DISM to repair the Windows image.
Method 2. How to repair Windows 10 using DISM?
Windows 10 includes a command-line utility known as DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management). DISM command Windows 10 can be used to repair and prepare Windows images, including, Windows Setup, Windows Recovery Environment, and Windows PE. Also, DISM can be used to fix the recovery image within an installation of the operating system.
To repair Windows 10 using DISM commands:
  • To check whether there is any corruption, Run command line as administrator, then type the following syntax and press "Enter".
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
  • To scan the Windows image for any corruption, type below command and hit "Enter".
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  • To fix Windows image, type the following command and hit "Enter".
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:repairSource\install.wim

Method 3. How to reset Windows 10 with command line?
To reset Windows 10 with "Reset this PC", follow the instructions below:
Type systemreset -cleanpc in an elevated command prompt and press "Enter". (If your computer cannot boot, you can boot into recovery mode and select "Troubleshoot", and then choose "Reset this PC".)

Method 4. How to run system restore with command prompt?
If the problem is too severe, you can try to restore your Windows 10 to the previous state as long as you have enabled system restore. But, it will not restore documents, music, emails, or personal files of any kind. If this is what you need, see below.
To run system restore in safe mode, follow the steps below:
1. Start your computer and press "F8" repeatedly until the Windows advanced options menu appears.
2. Click "Safe Mode with command prompt" and press "Enter". If your computer can boot normally, type "cmd" in the search box and click "Command Prompt" to continue.
3. Sign in using an administrator account if needed. Once the command prompt is showing, enter rstrui.exe at first in the Command Prompt Window and press "Enter" to continue.

4. This command will bring you to the interface of System Restore. You can either use the recommended restore point or click "Next" to choose an available restore point. Then, follow the instruction to complete system restore.

Thanks, but I have already tried several options (yours included [Startup Repair], and it says that "Automatic Repair" wasn't able to repair my computer).

In StrTrail.txt I read that "bootres.dll file is corrupted."

How to fix Windows 10 boot problems by "bootres.dll"
To start we will say that if the equipment is automatically starting from the Auto Repair screen, we can click on that option to execute this, although we can manually access the Advanced Start options and run the automatic repair. At the same time, if this fails, we can also try to perform a system restore or use the command prompt (CMD) to perform some other steps (look at what I was shared before).

NOTE: When you run cmd commands do it as administrator.

First of all we can run Windows 10 in safe mode to correct the lack of DLL files or if they are corrupted by means of the function of checking files of the built-in system, since this will replace lost or damaged system files.

In the same way we can also access the command prompt window and execute the “chkdsk c: /f /r” command and restart the computer.

You can also force an "offline" repair, that is, with the operating system restarted, by running:
chkdsk /scan /forceofflinefix

I also believe that method 2 (repair with DISM) method shared above may work for you.

Thank you, but I have already tried all the mentioned steps.
None have worked so far (Dism included. In Dism, the "/online" argument fails with error 50 [that's because I'm connected to the internet?]).

I have just tried this command "chkdsk /scan /forceofflinefix", and although it runned well, it didn't fix the problem.

.... In Dism, the "/online" argument fails with error 50......

This tutorial contains instructions to resolve the following error when running the DISM command "Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth" from the Windows Recovery Environment: "Error 50, DISM does not support servicing Windows PE with the /Online option".

The above error is occurred, because in WinRE the operating system is not running, so the /Online switch is useless at this case. In fact the /Online switch in DISM tool, specifies that the action is to be taken on the operating system that is currently running.

How to fix: Error 50 DISM does not support servicing Windows PE with the /Online option. (Windows 10)
1.
After booting your computer from the Windows 10 installation media, press SHIFT + F10 keys at the first install screen to launch Command Prompt.
2. Inside the WinRE command prompt window, get a list of all available drives, by giving this command:

  • wmic logicaldisk get name

3. Then find out which drive contains the "Windows" folder, by typing this command: *
  • dir drive-letter:
* e.g. To see the contents of the C: drive, type: "dir C:" (without quotes). If you cannot see the "Windows" folder on the C: drive, then continue to the next drive (e.g. "dir D:", "dir E:", etc.), until see the "Windows" folder. [As you can see at the screenshot below, the Windows folder (at this case) is located at the D: drive.]

4. Once you find the "Windows" drive (e.g. the "d" in this example), give this command to repair the offline Windows image:

  • dism.exe /Image:d:\ /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
* Notes:
1. Where D = the Windows drive. (Change it according your situation)
2. There is space between \ / ("…/Image:d:\ /Cleanup-Image…")
3. If after executing the above command, you receive the "Error 0x800f081f: The source files could not be found", then perform a repair upgrade. To do that: **

a. Boot from the Windows 10 installation media.
b. At Windows Setup wizard, press 'Next' and then click 'Install Now'.
c. Accept the 'License agreement'.
d. When asked, select Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications.
** If you able to start your Windows 10 in Safe Mode with networking , then run the following command (in Admin Command Prompt):
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

5. When the DISM operation is completed, give the following SFC command to complete the repairs. *

  • SFC /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=D:\ /OFFWINDIR=D:\Windows
* Notes:
1. Where D = the Windows drive. (Change it according your situation).
2. There is space between \ / ("…/OFFBOOTDIR=D:\ /OFFWINDIR…")

6. When the operation is completed, reboot your computer.

This command didn't work.

Error: 193
An initialization error occurred.
For more information, review the log file.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

5. When the DISM operation is completed, give the following SFC command to complete the repairs. *

  • SFC /SCANNOW /OFFBOOTDIR=D:\ /OFFWINDIR=D:\Windows
* Notes:

This didn't work too.

I had a problem with my Windows 10 not booting after accidentally uninstalling important drivers, I just downloaded a pirated version and created a bootable USB using my friends PC. I then formatted my primary drive and reinstalled Windows 10 using the USB. Works perfect now. You should only do this if none of the suggested answers here work.

After reading ALL the above, I think it's time to bite the bullet and go for a fresh install of windows.

My suggestion:

1) Boot with Hirens Boot Disk
2) Backup any documents and such needed to be saved to a flash drive
3) Do a total wipe, and reload windows of choice from scratch
4) Re-install programs and copy backed up data into fresh windows
5) Profit! , and eliminate the needless headaches

Yeah, I'm going for it, I believe.

I just wanted to find the way to fix this kind of problem without reformatting. I just can't understand how it can be so hard to fix a common issue.
