How to fix Microsoft office encountered an error during setup

Okei so there's still some of people who don't now yet to fix this issues... i just want to share this method to fix this problem....

So there are many people who have reported of several issues a list of which have been mentioned below:

    • Microsoft office encountered an error during setup for 2013 version
    • Microsoft office encountered an error during setup for 2007 version
    • Microsoft office professional plus 2010 encountered an error during setup
    • Microsoft office 2013 encountered an error during setup windows 10
    • Unable to install the office 365

One of which most common one is the error displaying Microsoft office encountered an error during setup.

If you wish you can try to resolve the error by erasing the registry keys. In case the issue still persists then you can follow the below mentioned instructions:

    Method 1

Clean boot is performed to disable all startup programs and 3rd party services on the machine and check if they are conflicting with the Office program. If so, you may disable the unwanted software those conflict with the suite or get them updated. . .

Method 2 To Fix Microsoft office encountered an error during setup

at your start menu search type "Task Scheduler"after you go there you will see a small arrow... at the left side of "task scheduler" click a small arrow after that same to "microsoft" click small arrow sellect "office" then r-click click delete folder.

after that restart your Desktop/Laptop... then try to install your Microsoft Office. . .
i hope it will work to you

I recently encountered this error while upgrading from old office versions like 2010 to 2013 , 2013 to 2016 and so on. The main reason is the files are left back and it clashes with the new versions update files. Best way is dont uninstall using control panel it never clears out ever traces as you have mentioned.
Some of the steps i used and much easy than to follow the upper one i find much clear are:
    1) Use Revo Uninstaller portable version or installer it clears out traces . Never had issue with it
    2) Manually in Corporates as cant go around with Revo Uninstaller . Just enter Run Command ( Windows + R ) and type regedit than follow this Path:
Here manually delete folders in the office . Leave others which are system files it wont delete . Leave it as it is.
Restart your machine and try installing other version of office. It should surely work.

Note: I have used easy fix uninstaller of office but it sometimes doesn't work for me it is not able to find the issues. I always prefer Revo or manually removing office entries.
