How To Forward A Port and Open A Port In Utorrent
A port forward is a way of making a computer on your home or business network accessible to computers on the internet, even though they are behind a router. It is commonly used in gaming, security camera setup, voice over ip, and downloading files. After you have forwarded a port you are said to have an open port. Port Forwarding is also known as Virtual Server. Most programs will function fine without opening ports, but occasionally you may need to in order to increase performance (for example, if you download/upload a torrent, speed connection will be maximized) or simply get it to work. The ports you need to open are different for every program, so check the support documentation to figure out which ports need to be opened.
How to open a Port?
1) First of all, find out which is your static IP.
Open cmd.exe, type "ipconfig/all" and find your IPv4 address and note it somewhere.
2) Open your router's configuration page.
If your computer is connected to a router, it is most likely using the router's firewall to protect ports. If you want to open ports, you will need to open your router's configuration page. You can access your router from any computer attached to your network. The address is typically
Code:
192.168.1.1
It will ask you for a username and password. These are written in a label to your router (username usually is "admin").
3) Find the Port Forwarding section.
The location of this option will vary from router to router, but it is typically located in the Advanced menu. It is sometimes called the "Forwarding" section or the "Applications and Gaming" section, and may be under the "NAT" menu. You can also see this page, which has guides for many routers (just search your router and your model):

4) Create a new port forwarding entry.
You may need to click "Add Custom Service" or "Create Rule" in order to make a new entry. You will need several different pieces of information to open ports:
IP Address - This is the IP address of the device that you want to forward ports for. For example, if you want to forward ports for your laptop, you will need its IP. Use the IP that you noted from ipconfig/all.
Starting port and ending port - This is the range of ports you are opening. Some programs will require a range of ports, while other will require a single port. If you are only opening one port, enter the same number for the Starting and Ending ports. If you have the option to set the Internal Port range, use the same numbers.
Note: I suggest you to use a port above 40.000! Again, if you cant find a way to open a port, check this link again:

Protocol - You have a choice between TCP and UDP. The one required will typically be given to you by the program that you are unblocking ports for, but if you are unsure choose the "Both" or "TCP/UDP" option.
5) Save your entry.
Once you've entered in all the information you need, click the Save or Apply button. Your router will save the changes, which may take a few moments. After its done, the ports you specified will now be open for the IP address that you entered.
How to open a Port in Utorrent?
1) Open utorrent and go to Options->Preferences->Connection.
In the "Port used for incoming connections" box, fill it with the port you used to your port-forwarding entry.
Note: Remember to un-check the "Randomize port each start" option!
2) Apply and click OK!
