Update, it seems they made some changes since I used it last time so yes hosts can't be added anymore, my bad
@juanamm this is trane because i use also the corporate version see hereYou must be registered for see links
and i can access my dir ect that is in the system32 dir look hereYou must be registered for see links
@Iceman96 yes i know i have check that file and nothing was changed (lol) my host files is like it should be only 2 lines in it and protected / armed so no other program can change that file
To add the host file to exclude:
edit host file and add the MB host block from readme
do a scan and MB will flag the host file
check it and add to exclude
done
Put a etc folder shortcut on the desktop before installing MB.That should work!I waited until today to answer you waiting for MB's behavior.
So far MB has not broken the read-only attribute, so I think it is a simple solution and it works.
In this specific case I will not change the access permissions of System, but it is a good idea for other programs that can break the attributes of the files.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.

This is exactly how I did it. Modify the hosts file, let Malwarebytes detect it and click "Ignore Always"
No file permissions need be modified.

trying to get it to detect it, but it continued without detecting anything and without adding the # before the hosts.
