I have tons of files that I downloaded from here and have tried to get as many as I could to seed. I currently am seeding 258 files. I have been trying to find out if it is possible to get seeding credit while using a VPN. I read somewhere that you couldn't. Do you know for sure? I have a great ratio, 979.2 right now and am not worried about being able to download. I download every new .torrent that is available and then seed it, whether I need it or can use it or not. I can't seed 24/7 for various reasons, but do try to seed as much as possible. I would very much prefer to use a VPN and aam looking into the fastest one for p2p. I currently use HideMyAss/HMA which is now owned by AVG. Even though TeamOS is a private Tracker, my ISP and perhaps others can see what it is that I am up/downloading, and that could mean that the US Gov. could show up at my door. I DO NOT want that to happen. If you could please clarify the VPN thing for me I would appreciate it. Also, if using a VPN does block me from getting credit, is there a way around it? I can seed faster without a VPN, but the risk to me could prove very expensive, even jail time.
Thank you for any clarity or advice you can give me about this.
P.S. - Are all files seeding counted or just what is actually uploaded?
I currently seed (when I seed) from 2 IPs. I'm lucky enough to have 2 x 1gb lines with different IPs and seeding works fine from either line. You can also have multiple concurrent seed locations (home and seedbox for example). So I'm pretty sure that yes as long as its the same torrent file you will get credit tho an Admin can tell you for sure.
One small test might actually help more. Just place one torrent under the VPN and see if it shows on your list of seeding torrents. Keep in mind tho that VPN traffic, in general, is slower than direct.
