Alright so last time I asked for help I was a little too specific. So this time I'll try the other route. I'm looking for anyone with experience with a program known as RunAsDate There's is a 32 and 64 bit version that can backdate an exe even an installer. I know there's a simply way to use this tool for trial software but so far I've only managed to make my system unstable. So if you've used this tool in combination with backup software like AOMEI please reveal your method. Before my thread gets locked I'll take this time to thank anyone kind enough to offer assistance.

In versions prior to 1.03, RunAsDate always waited until the kernel was fully loaded, and only then injected the desired date/time. This mean that some programs that get the date/time im very early stage, received the real current date/time, instead of the fake date/time of RunAsDate. Starting from version 1.03, when the 'Immediate Mode' is turned on, RunAsDate inject the date/time immediately when the process starts, without waiting to the kernel loading. However, this mode can also cause troubles to some applications, especially if they were written in NET
If executing an application from RunAsDate cause it to crash, you should turn off the 'Immediate Mode'.

You can also use RunAsDate from command-line, with the following syntax:
RunAsDate.exe {/immediate} {/movetime} {/startin [folder]} {/returntime [seconds] } [dd\mm\yyyy] {hh:mm:ss} [Program to run] {Program parameters}

Examples:
RunAsDate.exe 10\10\2018 12:35:22 "C:\Program Files\AOMEI Backupper Standard \??? AOMEI.EXE???"
RunAsDate.exe 10\10\2018 "c:\temp\myprogram.exe" param1 param2
RunAsDate.exe /movetime 11\10\2018 16:21:42 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE"
RunAsDate.exe /movetime /returntime 15 12\10\2018 11:41:26 "c:\temp\myprogram.exe"
RunAsDate.exe Hours:-10 "C:\Program Files.........

Well thank you @T1ppfehler. You are not stupid at all. I looked for awhile to find what you wrote quite simply. Can we move this thread to keep it alive? I haven't quite pushed this tool as far as it will go. Some programs for whatever reason do not approve being back dated prior to the date the software was created. Imagine that :wasntme:

what version of Runasdate you are using?? if you are a trial version or you have worked on the trial version expiration date? For some shareware programs, RunAsDate might really work, but many shareware creators are smart enough to detect that the date/time was modified and when they detect the time change, they end the trial period immediately. it can be a double-edged sword:oops:

You could try other alternatives like Cracklock, TimeStopper, Trial Reset 4.0 or TrashRegistryFinder but I did not have permanent successful with any better software. If you still decided to use them forget about the usage of any REGISTRY, defragmentation or optimization tool because they will neutralize their effect.

Isn't it a more natural way to download AOMEI from one of the Hawkeyes threads? It is clean, do not need to scare! According to my opinion Zone Alarm is little paranoic AV which prefers to flag anything.

I'm using AOMEI backupper and the partition tool. That's what led me to RunAsDate. I like ZoneAlarm because it is hyper aggressive. The only reason I stopped using it is because it wouldn't let you whitelist some positives, but now that it does I like it mostly because I don't think there's a better firewall. As far as defragmenting the registry IMO it's completely overrated I'll do it once it awhile, but the benefits are small and it'll take life out of a SSD if you get obsessive with it. I have not had luck with TimeStopper or Trial Reset, I've had better luck finding the registry key that is time stamped and replacing it with one I have tweaked. The problem is it's getting hard to find these keys and now every process has one and if they are not tweaked to match the program goes unstable. You can close the tread I'll continue with @T1ppfehler in PM. I have RunAsDate 1.16 and 1.3 been using both on a spare PC with mixed results. What I lack is trial installers that are old finding them is not easy
