I had a thought, could I set the firewall up as one of a multiple boot, or would I have to use virtual machine software in order to run the firewall and an OS at the same time? I have 2 x CPU's with 16 cores each and 8 HDD's and SSD's totaling over 20 TB. With approximately 10 TB free right now. Could it work (probably as a virtual machine)?

For your first message, 2 Network cards can include in a VM for example: Host-Only (WebAdmin/Config) and NAT(Net access) but more cards can be added even USB to a VM for more options + I'd highly recommend using custom vm-adapters for setting internal IP and to set it as a DHCP server to assign devices internal IP addresses. Second message, no you cannot multi-boot this system, nor would it be a good idea if any other installed OS is compromised, As this will wipe the entire drive a dedicated system or in most of our cases a VM. then from there it will act as the primary DHCP+NAT server, all traffic will be routed through the VM. You will have to point all devices to the new internal servers IP.

Many thanks. A stellar debut upload! I've been looking for an alternative to Smoothwall, this looks like it's going to be more user friendly and better supported.
