Get Win 10 Calculator WITHOUT Windows Store!

I have a legit Windows 10 Pro, but my calculator went missing and when I do click on a calc.exe in my system32 or Wow64 folder I get the error "You'll need a new app to open this calculator."

All the fixes I found just WASTED MY TIME. None of them worked at all. And I disabled Microsoft Windows Store.

So: We here at TeamOS have lots of Windows installs. I used "Everything" by VoidTools to find Y:\Windows\System32\win32calc.exe in one of these installs. I clicked it and it ran fine. BUT when I copied it any place IT DID NOT WORK. Why? It needs a subfolder called "en-US' which contains:
win32calc.exe.mui

To make it work anywhere copy the .exe and .mui file to a similar directory structure:

c:\folder-with-calc-exe-here\
c:\folder-with-calc-exe-here\en-US\

Just copy whatever version of calc in the top folder and the mui in the en-US subfolder. I renamed both files from win32calc.exe/mui to just calc.exe/mui.

The mui file MUST HAVE THE EXACT SAME NAME, but with ".mui" appended to the end.

If you want to be able to search for "calc" and have it work, copy a shortcut of the exe file to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
If you can't find a version of calc.exe and calc.exe.mui - I'm sure someone here can post their copies for you using their amazing torrent creation powers which I'm sure exceed mine.

though I always have a physical calculator with me all the time at work or home (occupational disease)
I did find it odd running calc in Win10 never works, used to do it alot back on Win7

I have Windows 10 1909. I removed a lot of bloatware stuff including Store. Calculator worked at first but when re-created a account, it dissapeared from Start Menu and now I only see "You'll need a new app to open this ms-calculator link". That trick didn't work for me. My file is called "calc.exe" and I have British English Windows so it uses En_GB. If this also doesn't work for somebody, just search "Old Windows 7 calculator" on google and some WinAero site has a download that will install that old calculator that works.

This calc.exe/mui pair is from Win10 Version 1809 OS Build 17763.864. It's US English but I suspect it will work for everyone and you, regardless of your language base of British English since US-English is the default for all Windows operating systems.

Here are two approved sites containing the calc.exe/mui pair. The 2 files named win32calc.exe/mui are the same files but with original names before I shortened the name to just "calc.exe/mui".
