Rufus is the PREFERRED method for creating a bootable USB from the Windows or Linux ISO's downloaded from TeamOS. It's VERY simple and straightforward. Here's how:

Use Rufus to write an .iso file
  1. Download . Rufus is a standalone program and does not require installation.
  2. Open the Rufus program from where you downloaded it to run it.
  3. Select Create a bootable disk using and choose ISO Image from the drop-down menu. Click the disc icon and browse to your Windows .iso file and select it.
  4. To ensure the flash drive is compatible with UEFI, select FAT32 for "File System".
  5. To create the flash drive with the "Press any key to boot from USB" prompt, select the Create extended label and icon files option.
  6. When you are done selecting options, click Start When prompted, confirm that you want to erase the flash disk.
The .iso files will start copying to the flash drive (the process can take several minutes). When Rufus is done, close the program.

When done, with the USB in the drive, reboot your PC/Laptop to the USB drive and complete installation. Plain and simple.

Hi i've been using rufus for sometimes now and it work perfectly but, i've had this problem where, when i go and install windows to another pc - it boot but it shows error message when i've select the drive i want to install - and i notice that i've select "mbr" option on rufus but the pc i want to install is "gpt", and when i select "gpt" it work fine. So what I want to ask is that, is there any alternative to rufus where it doesn't matter whether the HDD is gpt/mbr but the installation process will still work.

no. it depends of the setting on that PC. on most of the desktop PCs you can change MBR/GPT (UEFI boot). on some laptops you can't do that.
the most important thing is - how was your SSD/HDD formatted before new installation.
if you have SSD/HDD formated in GPT, make GPT USB drive.

how about the partition scheme and the target system?
can it be made to run the two system partition scheme?
i prefer it to be able to boot in eufi mode n bios mode, like with dlc boot.

if you create USB for MBR mode and change setting in BIOS/UEFI to legacy mode BOOT, i think you can use MBR mode but you can't keep data on your SSD/HDD - e.g. delete only system partitions and keep data on the other partition (where your data is stored). i didn't try to delete all the partitions and reformat the SSD/HDD so i can't tell if this does work. i'm using several USB drives so i have UEFI/CSM (MBR, GPT) - i think the easiest way is to buy another USB drive - they are really cheap! :)

Thanks. one more thing i've notice is that when i boot from a dvd it work fine, it doesn't matter whether the HDD is gpt/mbr. So is it possible to convert a usb to dvd drive and boot the usb like a dvd.

you can use PowerISO or some application like that to make bootable DVD from .ISO file (which you've used for making USB bootable drive)
you can't "convert" USB to DVD.

I read that MBR works best with x86 & GPT with x64.
Then FAT32 it's for 4gb or less. NTFS works on every capacity.
I have a laptop with SSD (60 gb) for windows & another SSHD (1 tb) for my data. I use a caddy for second drive. Ofcourse my "C" drive it's a NTFS partition.
Never had problems before Rufus version 3.
Now i can't install windows with Rufus. I use Yumi, thanks to a user on this forum. Yumi works fine.
Apache, can you give some advice, please.

well it's up to ur, for me, mbr work with x86/x64.
if ur using Medicines than mbr is the option. fat 32 is for ufd format when creating windows installer with rufus.
of course ur have to see what type partition ur using for ur ssd or sshd, mbr or gpt.
if using gpt, of course using mbr option cannot make ur install windows.
cause when ur instal, it will say, ur using gpt disk. ur have to reformat all ur disk to mbr to install windows.

zero_chan,
thank you for your reply.
My processor it's x64. First hdd = SSD for system "C" , it's NTFS. I use pre-activated windows .
To be clear, i remove the caddy with 1 Tb SSHD (hhd nr.2), before i instal windows. So no conflicts here.
My confusion is because i read that GPT it's better for x64 systems. MBR obsolete..., etc.
Partition scheme ? GPT
File system for windows 10, should be NTFS, wright?

@Kornell what i refer to is this
the file system for ur drive of course NTFS.
if ur select ur disk using GPT, then ur have to set ur rufus to use GPT too.
ur can try this
or this when i ask can it be made to run the two system partition scheme?

I also faced the same problem in Rufus version 3. So rolled back and started using version 2.xx

well, i have just read the rufus FAQ and i stumble over something interesting. i have yet implemet/try it, but this info maybe what we need to make the rufus can boot in dual bios/eufi(mbr/gpt).
and hopefully someone can try n make sure is this the real issue.
Why doesn't Rufus create a Windows installation USB that can be booted in dual BIOS/UEFI mode?
If you are using a Windows ISO that can be dual booted in UEFI or BIOS mode, you may find that the USB created by Rufus does not preserve the dual UEFI+BIOS boot feature.
Especially, the Windows 8 or later installation ISOs, that support both UEFI and BIOS boot, will be converted to either one or the other mode, depending on the option you selected under Partition scheme and Target type: If you select MBR and BIOS or UEFI-CSM, the USB will be bootable in BIOS-mode only (even on UEFI systems), and if you select GPT then the USB will be bootable in UEFI mode only (and not bootable on a BIOS system at all).

This is done to avoid confusion, as it can be difficult for non expert users to know whether they actually booted in UEFI or BIOS mode, when an USB Flash Drive can be booted in both modes, and installation is meant to be a one-off operation, targeting a very specific machine and boot mode. You probably don't want to go through a full Windows installation, only to realize that it was installed in BIOS mode, when all you really wanted was UEFI mode.

By ensuring that only one or the other can be used for Windows installation, there is no room for error with regards to which mode was used.

Note that this does not apply for Windows To Go, and that you can also enable dual UEFI+BIOS boot by using the Alt-E cheat mode with Rufus 2.0 or higher. Also, if your UEFI firmware integrates an NTFS driver natively, then you may also find that you can dual boot an USB created in Rufus, even as only BIOS-CSM was specified.
