Hi,
little stumped as to what my issue even is, Microsoft/Windows keeps changing the issue upon solving the issue

Some background
I installed the following onto my already exsisting MSI 970 Gaming + FX6300 with basic platter drive (25,000 hrs and switched on 3700 times, dayuum!)
Zotac GTX 1050 ti
Antex Mercury 240
**Samsung 860 Evo (the problem drive)

The platter drive had an up to date version of Windows 10 downloaded free from Microsoft when they had the Accessibility version up...

I've downloaded multiple installs from TeamOS and even tried microsofts media creation tool
ISSUE #1: MBR drive needing to be formatted as GPT - derp!
ISSUE #2: Couldn't format drive within the installation
ISSUE #3: Dialogue would popup stating windows could not install/reset and my files were left as is
ISSUE #4: USB 2.0 ports are cutting in and out - not an issue with the power settings - not sure if an issue after install either

I managed to clone said platter drive to said SSD and then go ahead and manually "clean" it in which i tried another reset to to avail...

Any suggestions what the issue may be? Kinda stumped, got a 400gb PCIE SSD coming in 2 weeks time and want to work this one out before the arrival :(

Please do full format ( Not a quick format ) on the problematic drive then try it again.
Try to slave the drive.. :)

I got that issue way back before

your setup isn't that dissimilar to mine so here:

grab a copy of

grab a copy of rufus 3.1, install it, plugin you flash drive, launch rufus, under boot selection navigate to where you saved the above iso and select it, under partition scheme select gpt, leave everything else as is and click start, you'll get a warning message just click ok and wait for rufus to finish. please ignore the iso name in my image cause i renamed it after downloading it.

npw that you have stuff on the ssd you will want to reset it not format it. if your ssd came with a tool create the boot media for it, if not i recommend parted magic, use the setting in the below screenshot, click start and you will get a popup, just leave it on "write in iso image mode" and click ok, now you'll get the one warning, just click ok and wait for rufus to finish. now that you have this boot to it and once on it's desktop select erase disk, select ata secure erase, then select your drive, you may have to unlock the drive to be able to erase it, just check sleep, apply or ok and the system will reboot back to parted magic's desktop, now you should be able to secure erase your ssd.

just hollor if you need any further help.

on a MBR drive you CAN'T install a windows version .
you need to format the HD as a GPT NTFS partition.
otherwise it will not work.

on a MBR drive you CAN'T install a windows version .
you need to format the HD as a GPT NTFS partition.
otherwise it will not work.

actually you determine if the system drive will be mbr or gpt by how you build your boot media, and including the current win 10 build yes you can install all microsoft os's on a mbr pratition scheme, but this day and age gpt is preferred. as for formatting only on hdd's, NOT on ssd's/ ssd's you reset.

thank you, much appreciated

i booted into parted magic and took some screenshots. first chance i get i'll copy my one post above to the appropriate section add the new screenshots and creat a master tutorial on what i've been doing to install or reinstall my os to my ssd. if anyone wants to suggest tags i can add it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Problem solved
So something to do with the boot got stuck on the platter drive and in turn it wasnt wanting to restore
Removed platter drive, booted up boot mgr from USB - repaired SSD - went through diskchk and reformatting etc - then was finally able to convert the drive to GPT as a clean drive AGAIN
This time it didnt hesitate on installing
