Tech News Windows 10 2004 build 19041.1 is here for the Fast and Slow ring, here’s everything you need to know

Microsoft late this afternoon pushed out Windows 10 2004 Insider Preview Build 19041.1 to Windows Insiders in both the Fast and Slow rings. As has been the theme over the past few weeks, there isn’t anything much new with this release. There are, however, some general fixes, improvements, and known issues you need to note of. Here’s what you need to know.

It’s important to note that starting in this release, Microsoft is making the Quick Searches feature international Starting as part of a server-side update. The feature is now expanding to other languages and locations, including Chinese, French, and Japanese. As a reminder, you can use this feature to find out about the weather, top news, today in history, new movies, and occasionally, a seasonal topic in the search bar in Windows 10.

Now, for the general changes, improvements, and fixes. These range from fixes for the rollback issue, as well as win 32 apps using too much of the CPU. See the full list below.

The build watermark at the lower right-hand corner of the desktop is no longer present in this build. This doesn’t mean we’re done…
We fixed an issue resulting in an increased number of Insiders experiencing rollbacks (error code 0xc1900101) when upgrading to recent builds.
We fixed an issue from recent builds that could result in a crash when trying to log into a secondary account on your device.
We fixed an issue when using the Japanese IME in certain Office apps that could result in the candidate window not appearing when using reconversion.
We fixed an issue that could result in win32 apps experiencing an unexpected increase in CPU usage if left idle after having opened the Common File Dialog.

Finally, there are the known issues. There is still an ongoing issue with BattlEye anti-cheat software. Other issues range from the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build. Here’s the full list.

We’re looking into reports of the update process hanging for extended periods of time when attempting to install a new build.
We’re looking into reports of certain external USB 3.0 drives not responding with Start Code 10 after they’re attached.
We’re looking into reports of the Optimize Drives Control Panel incorrectly reporting that optimization has never run on some devices.

In other insider news, Microsoft also announced the ISO files for Build 19035 are now out for download. This still doesn’t mean that the Windows 10 2004 Update is ready as of yet though. Expect more builds to come in the next weeks.
