Windows 10’s September 2019 Patch Tuesday cumulative updates are now available with multiple fixes and improvements. Windows 10 Build 18362.356 is available via Windows Update.

The patch would be listed as ‘2019-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1903 for x64-based Systems (KB4515384)

Windows 10 KB4515384 mostly includes security fixes and one general bug fix. Like every other Patch Tuesday update, Windows 10 Build 18362.356 is shipping via Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Microsoft Update Catalog and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) for everyone.

Patch Tuesday happens every month and it’s specifically focused on resolving security vulnerabilities in Windows, Office productivity suite, and even .NET Framework. Microsoft has also shipped an update for Adobe Flash Player to address the reported vulnerabilities.

Windows 10 KB4515384 (Build 18362.356) Full Changelog
Microsoft has issued fixes for a bunch of security vulnerabilities affecting Edge, Internet Explorer, Scripting Engine, Windows Authentication, Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Storage and Filesystems, and other components.

Microsoft says it has also resolved security issues with input devices such as a mouse, keyboard, or stylus. The update also includes changes for usernames, passwords, storing and managing files.

High CPU usage
Windows 10 cumulative update KB4512941, which was published on August 30 as an optional update, broke down Windows Search and also caused high CPU usage. Earlier this month, some users documented a bug where Cortana’s background process (SearchUI.exe) could cause CPU spikes of between 30% and 40%.

Microsoft acknowledged the issue last week and said a fix will be included in the cumulative update. As promised, Microsoft has finally high CPU usage and Search issues with Windows 10 Build 18362.356.

The Windows 10 April 2018 update (or version 1803) is also getting a new patch today with the build 17134.1006 (KB4516058), though keep in mind that this version of Windows 10 will reach end of support for Home and Pro users after November. Microsoft is now in the process of updating these users to the May 2019 Update, as we’ve seen in the latest AdDuplex numbers for the month of August.

Microsoft is also releasing new Patch Tuesday Updates for Windows 10 versions 1709, 1703, and 1607 today, though these patches are only available for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users.
