When i go too Software Protection services its say
((windows could not start the software protection service on local computer error 5 access is denied))
Are you performing these steps from an Administrator user account?
Do you face the same issue in other user accounts?
From what the error messages states, it appears that Windows is unable to access certain files due to restricted permissions on that user account. It is possible that some recent changes have changed the permissions for your user account without your knowledge. I would suggest you to check if the drive where windows is installed shows that you have permissions to access and modify. Log in to an administrator user account and follow these prompts:
- Right- click on the drive where windows is installed and select ‘properties’.
- Click on the ‘Security’ tab and then click on the ‘Advanced’ button.
- Against the ‘Owner’ field, check if your user name is mentioned.
- If not, click on the ‘Change’ option near username.
- In the ‘Enter the Object name’ box, type your username and click on ‘Check names’.
- Click on ‘OK’ to save changes and then check.
Restart the computer and check if the issue persists. If yes, then the system files may be corrupt. In this case, I would suggest you to run the DISM tool and check. Refer to these steps:
1. Press Windows key + X, select ‘Command prompt (Admin)’.
2. In the Command prompt window, type the following commands and press enter after each command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
3. Close the command prompt and check.
If the above steps didn’t help, then I would suggest you to perform a system refresh.
NOTE: For me it is a pleasure to help you friend, but all these answers and more, you find them in the Microsoft forum, why don't you look directly there?
