Macrium Reflect is image-based backup and cloning software that creates an accurate and reliable image of a hard disk or the partitions on the drive. It creates disk images and file backup archives using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service to ensure 'point in time' data accuracy. Macrium Reflect can back up whole partitions or individual files and folders into a single compressed, mountable archive file. The mountable archive files can be used to restore exact images of the partitions on the same hard disk for disaster recovery, or a new hard drive for data migration. In the event of a partial or complete system loss, the user can use this image to restore the entire disk, one or more partitions, or even individual files and folders.
Using Macrium Reflect, users can whole backup partitions or individual files and folders into a single compressed, mountable archive file. Users can use this archive to restore exact images of the partitions on a hard disk to easily upgrade hard disk or recover the system if it breaks. Users can also mount images as a virtual drive in Windows Explorer to quickly recover Files and Folders using Copy and Paste.

- File and Folder Backup
MS Volume Shadow Copy is excluded from participating in backups of removable drives. Previously, a File and Folder backup would report VSS errors before continuing if folders on a removable drive, such as a Flash drive, were included. VSS is not supported on removable media. - MS Exchange
Some customers have reported an application crash when running MS Exchange incremental backups. This has been resolved. - GPT Disk Layouts
An additional check to allow the GPT partition table to contain gaps when loading disk layouts in Reflect is added. It is possible that GPT partition tables can be non-contiguous if the disk has been formatted or updated using Linux. - Rescue Media
- To distinguish between multiple Ethernet Adapters with a similar name, the Windows PE Network Adapter dialog now shows the MAC address of each adapter;
- Changing the rescue media staging area volume would not always remove all the files on the old volume. This has been resolved;
- If a new edition of Reflect is installed, e.g, Workstation to Server, the Rescue Media Builder will now prompt for a rebuild of the rescue media.

- German Language Version Only - A program exception could occur when opening the verification dialog. This has been resolved;
- Macrium Changed Block Tracker (MRCBT) - CBT could erroneously hang on to volume locks on some systems, causing problems with scheduling system volume chkdsk events, USB drive ejection, and OneDrive Personal Vault. This has been resolved.
