MakeMKV is a one-click software solution to convert video that the user owns into a free and patent-unencumbered format that can be played everywhere. MakeMKV is a format converter, otherwise called "transcoder". It converts the video clips from the proprietary (and usually encrypted) disc into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. The MKV format can store multiple video/audio tracks with all meta-information and keep chapters. Many players can play MKV files nearly on all platforms, and there are tools to convert MKV files to many formats, including DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Additionally, MakeMKV can instantly stream decrypted video without intermediate conversion to a wide range of players so that a user may watch Blu-ray and DVDs with its favorite player on its favorite OS or the preferred device.

• Brand new network code, it is now possible to set a proxy server in preferences, to access network over TOR/VPN;
• MakeMKV now can extract Dolby Vision metadata from elementary stream data and rebuild missing or invalid DV descriptors;
• Drive speed control update - MakeMKV now forces low speed when reading data around disc edges, working around firmware bugs;

Bug fixes:

• Program could hang or crash when converting files with many audio streams;
• On some multi-segment sources with LPCM audio program failed to produce MKV file;
• Program could crash when producing test dump or when conversion failed;
• On a 32-bit x86 system program could run out of memory on big multi-segment sources.

• Massive internal rewrite, some improvements, and small bugfixes;
• Muxer updated to the latest Matroska specification;

• Sdftool included as standalone executable;

1. Combined installation of the repack and portable (PortableApps format version) in one distribution package;
2. Does not require registration (key applied already);
3. Multilingual user interface (including Russian, optional installation of the Russifier);
4. Picks up the custom Main.ini settings file (if located next to the installer).
