For anyone having issues with taskbar update nags - found a solution. Works!!

Disable the update notification in settings and then ....
*** Exit out of program in taskbar ***
Delete the installer file located under C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\instlrupdate
and then restart your system and that should eliminate the notifications.

Here is what I did and its stays PREMIUM.

1. Uninstall any Malwarebytes on your PC. (I use REVO Uninstaller Pro)
2. Restart your PC
3. Important.
Modify your hosts and add the following entry first:
0.0.0.0 keystone.mwbsys.com
4. Install Malwarebytes.Premium.v4.0.4
5. That's it, you're done and you may proceed with "Check for updates" and it will stay PREMIUM.

I have added that address to my hosts file. Is it normal for me to get a popup in Malwarebytes that says "Unable to contact server. Check your network settings or contact you rsystem administrator." ??

I think thats normal, that is because you added the ip in host file which contacts the updates. which we dont need.
