Although I'm logged in to Windows with an Admin account, every time I try to save the host file, I get denied, so I have to reboot in safe mode to accomplish this. Is there any other way around this nuisance?EDIT: Since people have a tendency to keep asking.. ->
Although the OP file has an instructions for hosts blocking, still for those who in case in the future would get trial ended error (just in case)......
Use these hosts to deny the app getting the trial or crac ked issue.
Your ownership of the hosts file can be blocked due to couple of reasons.Although I'm logged in to Windows with an Admin account, every time I try to save the host file, I get denied, so I have to reboot in safe mode to accomplish this. Is there any other way around this nuisance?

Flushed the DNS, don't have any VPN, still the same situation, but I got around it: saved the original host file on desktop, modified it, deleted the original in host folder, then recopied it from desktop. Works now.Your ownership of the hosts file can be blocked due to couple of reasons.
1. DNS Cache is not getting flushed. This maybe due to a VPN connection or normally DNS cache not getting overridden. Just flush in normal and safe mode and it will not be an issue.
2. Use only "notepad.exe" in admin mode, else it will not work.
PM me if you have any issues.
Just ensure your hosts file has the default entries, else DNS Cache does not get flushed. This is something that I never figured why, but guess I did not care that much.Flushed the DNS, don't have any VPN, still the same situation, but I got around it: saved the original host file on desktop, modified it, deleted the original in host folder, then recopied it from desktop.
