Aha-Soft IconLover is a powerful graphics editor for finding, extracting, creating and editing icons and cursors and managing icon libraries and image lists. IconLover is a software application who have a diverse set of tools for creating various projects and icons for user files. The app has a clean and pretty intuitive interface so it can be handled by users of any experience level, and it comes equipped with extensive documentation that should help novices.

The installation procedure is relatively straightforward, as the program does not require any other software to perform its functions. The setup wizard will guide the user through the process step by step. User can create a new icon from scratch or by using an image file, as well as extract all icons from the user computer or download them from the Internet. IconLover supports several file types, such as ANI, ICC, ICL, ICO, ICNS and RSRC.

When building a new icon, the user can specify its size, colouring mode and conversion mode (e.g. grayscale), as well as make it packed for Windows Vista. Settings can be saved as default. IconLover supplies users with some standard drawing tools, such as selection, colour picker, eraser, paintbrush, pencil, airbrush, flood fill, text, curved line and rectangle. Furthermore, user can select a gradient for the colour filling, flip or roll the picture, as well as make image adjustments (e.g. opacity, brightness, hue) and apply effects (e.g. replace colour, drop shadow, merge with the background colour).

The program barely uses the system memory, and CPU has a good response time and worked smoothly during our evaluation, without freezing, crashing or showing error notifications.

Modify images with drop shadow, opacity, smoothing, negative, grayscale, colourisation, rotation, roll and mirror effects;
Import and export ICO, BMP, JPEG, ANI, CUR, GIF, PNG, TGA, TIFF, WMF, WBMP, XPM, XBM and Adobe Photoshop PSD image formats;
Import Mac OS icons from ICNS and RSRC files;
Manage icon libraries for better and more efficient image storage;
Extract icons from Windows executables, libraries and animated cursor files, ZIP and RAR archives;
Download icons from the Internet;
Modify icons inside executables;
Search in folders for icons and cursors;
Convert or apply effects to multiple icons at once;
Customize desktop and folder icons.

What is new in version 5.48a (Released on March 27, 2019):

Improved: Support for Mac OS icons;
Improved: Support for 64-bit DLL and EXE files.
