Well! I first export settings from older version! Thanks, SanMir for the update & direct link. Will edit post if I have any issues.
Update: So far, so good. The only thing I hate about updating is if I forget to export my detection exclusions, I have to go through ESET asking me what to do again...lol.
I used to do the same thing. On a whim, I tried installing the new version over the old (after system backup) and was surprised to find out that it maintains all of my settings, including my firewall rules (over the years there's a lot of them). The only settings that don't carry over for some reason are my virus detection rules. Which is why I hate forgetting to export them before the update...lol. I'm not saying this is guaranteed to work, but if you can make a backup of your system, it's worth a shot. Hope this helps.Well! I first export settings from older version!
Uninstall old version!
Restart
Install version from OP
Everything works fine ... it do initial scanning ...update all /modules too/
Then when I try to bring back my settings from older version, everything goes smooth, BUT... red modules update failed... again
Something in old *.xml tell ESET that I cheating! Can anybody check Your xml /after exporting it from working Endpoint security /
I'm at a loss, Fantom. Sounds like you went through it correctly. Not sure why you're still getting the module update error. Hopefully, someone else here can help, or Reddit. Keep us posted.@ZombieMambo.77
So, What do You think that I do wrong?
1. Try setup over existing one - red module update
2, Try setup over clean one - ESET&Revo uninstaller first - all OK but no already created rules so zillion of questions about new ones /Interactive mode / - NO red module update until next scheduled update and then red module update again
3. ??? << what now
