Ok, let's wrap this up cause it becomes less useful and sidetracks the more posts we do.
.erif ransomware is a variant of STOP/Djvu. It uses both offline and online encryption methods. Since you obviously have internet, it used the online version (this is why it's important to disconnect the infected pc as soon as we suspect something) and there is no cure for that at least up till the time I'm writing this.
Remember to backup outside of your PC (preferably to the cloud) your important files, disconnect a pc from your LAN/Internet the moment you suspect there's something going on, and avoid downloading anything from anywhere.
