My all files & photos showing .MAIV VIRUS. AM unable to open any app or data.. Hiw can I remove MAIV VIRUS from my laptop

Ransomware i think, if so forget all about so called decrypters, your files are cooked, everything on there, gone. A fresh format is needed, however id be very careful backing anything up and putting it on the fresh install just in case its infected. You need better protection.

Someone i knew who was a expert in computer field once told me that In the face of a real threat of a virus, no anti virus could ever save you. So, always prepare backup and know what you are doing.

Take this as a learning experience and prevent yourself from further attacks.

You also want some good anti malware software and a 3rd party app for detecting ransomware etc, grindsoft is a good start, malwarebytes etc, it isnt just about the virus. you should also scan regular and stick to a reputable site like TeamOs, avoid other unknowm or common torrent sites too, in my time ive only ever had 1 ransomware attack, my fault, got an email as well demanding money to decrypt my files. I mailed the guy back and said id pay, if he was prepared to meet me in person face to face ha ha, needless to say i never heard from him again but did trace his IP etc and reported him. i did a wipe, reinstalled and that was that, after a fresh install i make a backup on a spare hdd and then put that hdd away for safe keeping in case its needed. im a photographer, thankfully i dont keep my work on the pc itself, i cant afford to lose my work.
