Thank you for sharing. I'm unsure if it's the Medicines, solarwind's software (I'm pretty sure this was the software that had the dev updates modified with malicious code) or what.
But I've had strange behavior from my computer, Solarwinds Orion I was my first suspicion but one does not simply uninstall Orion, it's embedded pretty deep.
Now, I'm not here to point fingers at OP or anyone else, I'm fairly certain this is just stock SW Orion when it is stuck in a highly vulnerable version as demonstrated by the US government.
I'm trying to see if others have had issues similar to what's below, that would enable me proceed without it feeling like I'm barking up the wrong tree.
Have you, before or after uninstalling, had issues with file/folder permissions, specifically with system32. I tried from my administrator outlook linked profile and the built in admin, no success. I spent a good amount of time checking resources and can say I pretty much did all available from CMD, PowerShell and even 3rd party for grams for fixing file permissions or forcing permissions nothing.
I did a soft reset, aka kept personal files and folders, next I'll be doing a full drive wipe and a USB install if I have to.
Now, windows defender is somehow in a choke hold. Its off and can't be turned on, "An administrator controls this setting, unable to view" something that
Anyone else have similar experience?
