You're right! When I started the installer, ESET Antivirus found an .exe file in the start menu folder. There should definitely not be .exe files there. The installer is a bit larger than the original at the developer's site. I downloaded the trial from there and ran the activation. It worked without any problems. So there is some kind of trojan attached to the installer.

The trojan is inside the large installer file.

The point is to set the program to run as Administrator. The picture "CamRecoder executable setting.png" clearly shows this.

obviously you didn't understood what I meant : you have to set it also in a useless compatibility mode as this version isn't due to work in any windows trend besides W10 : compatibility mode is for older (98, 2000, XP) under W7 or W10.
If my memory doesn't fail me, compatibility mode already existed under XP.

Sorry if you misunderstood but Setting the program (once installed) to run as Administrator (some programs require Adinistrator priviledges to run correctly irrespective of whether or not your user account is set to Adinistrator) is done via the Compatibility mode tab under properties. This does not mean that (even if you set compatibility mode for the installer to W7 or any other Windows OS) it will install on a non W10 machine.
