As soon as I can afford to build another machine. I just want the base OS, as described, for supporting all my other applications, easy activated, pre-activated, whatever.
Bells and whistles I can add on my own, as all the other stuff I use is open source via John Haller's PortableApps application shell. If I see it here, then I'll most likely
plunk some money to go V.I.P. since I've only lurked since joining and will pay my "dues" that way, to stay within the rules here.

I've been running this LTSC version of windows for one year now and I am still unable to install cumulative updates. Tried all the common recommended suggestions and every time it has been a failure. Apart from that it has been a great OS. Wandering if I should move to windows pro, for safety reasons, as there all the updates have been installing fine.

I tried to get this on a USB first with rufus then with poweriso but i only see the windows logo for a second and then the Dos screen shows with an _ blinking on the top left corner.
Am i doing something wrong or is the laptop too old for this? HP 6910P with ATI Mobility Radeon X2300

I refurb machines for foster children, I have used machines older, I looked at the specs, it is from 2008,and looks to be x64, so think it should work, but I am unsure of any special cpu instructions, will research more.
