I hated r-drive. Earlier it used to cause a lot of asymmetric asylum to symlinks. Breaking the restore process in that. I will give it a try, though I recently lost 2TB worth of data (eveeything personal), as my HDD got formatted by Rufus instead of my 16GB USB. So, now I have no personal data (almost 56GB it was) and no software collection I had (1.5TB worth).
Anyways, stopping my rambling. Next time I need something, I will retry R-Drive.

For some years I used Acronis Disk image. Again, flawless with multiple imaging and restoring operations. I decided to try R-Drive one day because as mentioned I literally cannot help but constantly tinker and try new things, I tried it fully expecting to switch back to Acronis as it was my go to but to my surprise I found the overall experience with R-Drive even more intuitive, quick and efficient and I been using it since probably for the last 5 years or so and again through multiple IMAGE/RESOTRE operations that have never failed. I also loved I could image my OS at least for Windows WHILE CURRENTLY WITHIN WINDOWS, with Acronis I could never do this as it required the boot drive to be unlocked and not in use while imaging, this was the deciding factor for me. Funny how we can all have different experiences but that's been mine. To be fair though I only image Operating systems, as for files / software etc, that stuff I all meticulously back up on other partitions as well as an External Storage manually, it's slow but worthwhile for me at least. Any VPN account/login stuffs, with Open VPN config works perfectly. There are no skimmed apps for Linux, and most of it runs very nicely over command lines.
