this is a very stable released (I am using it) and this is not an OS problem. read first the post description and understand it before complaining or saying there is no windows update and the files included are not working, or let's juts say it's a user problem which is you or your hardware.

This release is very stable and light. If you read the Op's information under "more Info" the third bullet clearly states that it is not updatable and it was intended to be that way. So you and you alone made the decision of downloading it without reading the information on this release which clearly explains what it is and what is not. There are many options here and I suggest you first read all the information before you download and/or install any of it.

The clue is in the title "SUPERLITE".
Surely you didn't expect it to function like an untouched Microsoft release?
Just because it doesn't do exactly what YOU want, doesn't mean that it's bad or untested.
Be careful with your language. It is close to becoming inappropriate and disrespectful and we will not tolerate that.

It worked for a day, and then the screen suddenly went black. After restarting, it tried to install an update, failed to do so and "rolled back changes". Now I can only see a mouse pointer with black screen, can't boot to desktop. The only thing I did is turn on Windows Update service to install a language pack. Did I have to turn it off afterwards? But I don't think that was the problem, as my laptop worked until the next day just fine even after restarting a few times.

Do you guys know what's the issue? I'll try reformatting, but I hope it doesn't happen again.

Excellent release so far, any workaround to enable access to windows features? OptionalFeatures.exe is missing.
